I haven't heard too much about Valle, but it's entirely possible he's a dick. There are better catchers in the system anyway (though Cameron Rupp is older, and probably a future reserve/backup like Kratz); with Joseph alone, Valle is either expendable or a future backup.


I can't really judge a guy for what happens in the heat of an ugly brawl. I do know that Valle's stock has fallen in the Phillies' system. He was part of the package that was going to head to Houston for Wilton Lopez before the deal was aborted. I've seen him a few times and I think he could be a decent player. Though it's obvious Tommy Joseph is their future backstop. I was actually thinking the two could share time in '14 but I don't see two rookies being the catching situation. I'd bet on Valle being moved at some point.
