The issue with Tommy Joseph is that he is not even close to major league ready in any metric. He is currently in Florida still trying to recover from a concussion. On top of that, he has been charged with 7 passed balls, multiple throwing errors into centerfield, and is hitting barely above .200. His development has (hopefully) temporarily stalled and striking out and playing catch with Ben Revere is not exactly going to refine his skills.

Watching Joseph struggle for a year still beats giving Chooch 2-3 years at MLB level money. Maybe they go find a 1 year stop-gap, but there's absolutely no sound rational reason to keep Chooch around.

Look, I've been following this team through thick and thin since the late 1970's. And sometimes it seemed through thin and thin! We might be in trouble here. We have an offense that can't hit its way out of a wet paper bag and a bullpen that gives up runs, as if THAT was the goal of their existence. Unless some change takes place, and that a great change in performance, I fear a 3rd place finish and no playoff baseball in south Philly this coming October...
