I do not disagree, and I think this is a very clear-eyed column. The one thing I may take issue with is that Joseph will be the catcher next year. Maybe Chooch is not with us, but Joseph has been absolutely unacceptable defensively so far. Not even close to major-league ready. Many passed balls, nearly as many thrown to center field. Wilin Rosario of Colorado has these same issues on a smaller scale but he balances that out by hitting .290 with 30 home runs. Tommy Joseph struggles to get above .250 in AAA with much less power. He is simply not ready yet to take the next step in the big leagues.
