Jimmy Rollins appeared on 97.5 the Fanatic this morning with Harry Mayes and Brian Baldinger, and had this to say when looking at the future:
"Business is buisness, and the numbers are the numbers...there's no such thing as a home-town discount"
Hmm, well, if that's the case, then the Phillies might have to go do business elsewhere. Would the Phillies be better off overpaying Rollins for a few years, or letting him walk and getting a primariliy-defensive shortstop to play shortstop?
J.J. Hardy anyone? Jack Wilson? Rafael Furcal?
Should be interesting.

There is only one FA short stop I would consider over J-Roll and that is Jose Reyes. Rollins is much better than Hardy, Wilson and especially Furcal.

Yeah - I agree the dropoff is great. If you take Hardy and reallocate the $ to a top OF bat, I could handle that.
