I agree on some things, but I would not try to trade Shane Victorino. We need to re-sign him. He is one of the best center fielders in the game. I do not believe we will be able to re-sign Hamels, so maybe try trading him. Mayberry, Jr. had got to be sent down. Why hang on to him? He cannot hit! The Phillies offense is non-existent and we need some bats right now before they end up 10 games back! $175,000,000 payroll and in last place. This is so sad!!!

Dan

Wait, you criticize the team for making stupid decisions when it comes to injury-prone players, but then you suggest they go after Youkilis? He's been on the DL the past four seasons, missing a total of 153 games in the process. Add to that a hefty contract and significantly declining skills and there's absolutely no reason to go after him. It makes no sense at all.

Dan,

I threw his name in because I'm for buying period. I think Youk would be a better player in a new uniform. Boston's a bad situation these days, with a crappy manager and just a cloud over that team from last year. Would I prefer they find a better deal? Yes, I would. I would prefer any upgrade. I criticized the team for stupid decisions, not for the DL guys. I think they could have done more for the pen, and traded for an upgrade if they wanted to move Valdez out.

Frank,

If we're going to lose Cole, I would not re-sign Shane anyway. I'd take the money for both and try to get a major bat, either through trades or signing. I just don't think Shane's worth the price to this team, now.
